We are back again with another list. This time, we will feature a list of the best First Person and Third Person shooters of 2016 to 2017. We hope you like this list. Just like last time, remember that this is just a list of our choice, and we do not want to offend anyone or put up a bias against their views. These are ranked according to what we think, and we have given reasons for each one on the list and why we placed it there. Let us know in the comments below which one you thought should’ve been placed where and why. Hope you like this. Without any other formalities, let’s get into the list itself.

10. Prey (2017)
Prey, is an upcoming game being developed by Bethesda and Arkane, both of which are highly respected and successful studios. It is a new adaption of the original 2006 game Prey. It features a character by the name Morgan Yu, who is in a Talos 1 space station where a bunch of aliens invade and he has to survive. OF COURSE, the memories! This is something you’ve heard before probably, isn’t it? Of course, this is just like Dead Space. It is an FPS game with RPG elements. The story’s events are tailored by the character’s customization and choices. Morgan will be able to use a variety of weapons to survive and will be able to gather resources for use. What is even more fascinating is, is its setting. It takes place in an era where American President John F. Kennedy survived the assassination attempt in 1963. The US and USSR Co-operate for space programs and hence, sent this spaceship.
9. Black Mesa (2017)
You might have heard this name somewhere before; of course, in Valve’s famous Half-Life series. This game is actually sort of a third-party remake of the original Half-Life game. It is set in the same world and the character and most of the events are very similar. The core gameplay remains unchanged from the original Half-Life. This game is still in early access but has received a very positive reply from the media. At first, it was a little project by a small group of modders in 2012, which has now made its way onto the steam marketplace. The graphics are much better from 1997s Half-Life’s graphics. It still carries the originality and concept of half-life, even its best parts and even its problems; which were it being boring and repetitive sometimes.
8.Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 (2017)
As cheesy as the name might sound, this is one good sniping game. Releasing on 25th April, this game will be the sequel to the highly successful stealth game; Sniper Ghost Warrior 2. Its putting up a tough competition for its rival, Sniper Elite 4. Both of their predecessors were highly successful. This stealth game will of course, feature lots of stealth elements, and as the title suggests, sniping. Its environments and backdrops are just gorgeous, just like in Far Cry. The game will feature abilities like gathering information to find targets, or use state of the art drones for recons. On top of all of that, it will have an Open World! Which is very unusual for stealth games. The player will be able to purchase homes and roam the landscape. It will also have a multiplayer mode. It’s a guess that the player will probably be able to control vehicles as well. The world is based in Europe.
7.Killing Floor 2 (2016)                                                                                                        Killing Floor Is an extraordinary shooting game. It’s the type with cool guys in hazmat suits shooting monsters with a variety of weapons. The graphics are stunning. The game is full of gore and killing. The game is quite badass to be honest. It ranks in one of the best zombie games of all time. If you are a nut for Call of Duty: Zombies you should definitely check this out. This game features intense shooting and is the modern shoot-em-up type of game. The trial is free. Its available for PC via steam and PS4. An Xbox One and Maybe 360 version is planned in the near future. Our opinion, go check this out now. This is definitely worth the time and the cost.
6.SuperHot (2016)
When this wasn’t officially out yet, I was one of those people to try out its beta and it was love at first sight. The game is built from beautiful shards and crystals of some colors; black, white, orange. It implements a totally new concept; When you move, time moves, when you don’t, it moves very slowly. Which means you have to calculate your movement and shoot as well as dodge bullets accordingly. You can fight unarmed, with a pistol, katana, bottle, shotgun, rifle and an SMG. The game doesn’t have an exact storyline, but it is one of those “new” kind of abstract games which absorbs you immediately with their beauty. Upon completing a level all of the shards collapse to form a beautiful mishmash of a collage. Its graphics and gameplay is amazing. Definitely worth playing. The game is considerably long with some special levels as well. This feels like it’s a work of art as well as a game.
5. BioShock: The Collection (2016)
As the name suggests, this is a collection of all of the BioShock video games, and this is not some normal one; it’s actually remastered. For consoles, it even ported the PC exclusive BioShock title. It was released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The PS4 and Xbox One ones run at 60 frames per second with 1080p resolution and are spread across 2 discs. Something new which the games feature are new collectibles which allow them to unlock “Imagining BioShock” notes and video content, which tells them how the maker of BioShock came up with such an idea. And the collection also offers all DLCs. This way, fans of the BioShock trilogy can easily pick this up and play a complete, high quality version of all the games to relive their memories.
4. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. (2016)
Though this game received a lot of criticism from older Call of Duty fans that this was trash and the good days of Call of Duty had been turned to “power rangers” by the developers, it still managed to sell a lot and got its ranking in one of the most successful FPS games of 2016. It is set in the future, and has the player traveling through time in a storyline which was not too special, to be honest. Still, it was something new, and had many new things which people tried out like new weapons and all. Its multiplayer mode also made it highly successful, and countered the criticism effectively.
3. Doom (2016)
This remake of the original doom was certainly candy for the fans of the doom series. It had everything and was perfectly remastered, with new visuals as well as intense battles and lots of blood and gore. It all lined up together to form the remake all classic Dooms fans liked instead of cringed at. It could be called “Brutally-fun” to be exact. The models were well designed and the explosion and ragdoll physics, added up with the game’s mechanics to form a truly awesome remake. It was released for Windows, PS4, Xbox One. Bethesda published it whereas the original id Software developers made it. We can certainly say it’s the best successor to the MS-D-OS 1993 Doom we could’ve had. Finally, a game which was as good as its trailer.
2. Overwatch (2016)
Yes, this is overwatch, the famous team-based multiplayer FPS game with its own comic book series. The gameplay has 2 teams of 6 players fight each other off, with player choosing out of several hero characters, each with their own special abilities. With the general roles of Attack, Defense, Buff, and Debuff. The game mode is competitive and there are several types of modes. The game immediately got a great reply from the gamer audience and because of that it has become one of the most played online games, and one day, with its growing fanbase it might be able to compete against CounterStrike 1.6 and GO. In our opinion, this game is also definitely worth playing and is according to some the best of 2016.
Battlefield 1 (2016)
Battlefield 1 is the fifteenth installment in the Battlefield series, and the successor to Battlefield 4 and Battlefield: Hardline. It has been highly praised for its World War 1 theme, with its huge arsenal or weapons and vehicles, its graphics and its multiplayer mode. It is one of the best-selling game for the PS4 and Xbox One and PC. Its sound design and its campaign are also one of its salient features, and hence it landed the first position on our list. You probably have heard or played or play this game. This is the thing everyone Is talking about nowadays, so there is really no need to get into the detail of the gameplay and all.
